Общая сумма прибыли предприятия (компании) от всех видов хозяйственной деятельности до вычета из нее налогов и других обязательных платежей. В составе балансовой прибыли различают: валовую прибыль от реализации продукции [gross operating profit; GОР]; прибыль от реализации имущества; прибыль от внереализационных операций. В РФ этот термин используется для обозначения налогооблагаемой прибыли, рассчитываемой как сумма прибыли (убытка) от реализации продукции (работ, услуг), от основных средств (включая земельные участки), иного имущества предприятия и доходов от внереализационных операций, уменьшенных на сумму расходов по этим операциям.

 Стандартный показатель МСФО, приводимый в отчете о прибылях и убытках, численно равен разности между выручкой-нетто (см. Выручка от реализованной продукции) и затратами производства реализованной продукции. В РФ этот термин используется для обозначения налогооблагаемой прибыли, рассчитываемой как сумма прибыли (убытка) от реализации продукции (работ, услуг), от продажи основных средств (включая земельные участки), иного имущества предприятия и доходов от внереализационных операций (см. Внереализационные доходы и расходы), уменьшенных на сумму расходов по этим операциям. Данный показатель также называют прибылью отчетного периода и балансовой прибылью.
